    Operations Director of ECA Consulting

    Manogrie holds a Master of Science Degree in Environmental Sciences and is currently completing her ISO 14001 Lead Auditor training. She is a registered EAP with EAPASA and is a Professional Natural Scientist (SACNASP).

    She has nearly 15 years experience as an EAP and in compliance monitoring and ECO activities. She currently audits over 25 sites monthly, varying from small-scale developments to major infrastructure projects for stakeholders such as SANRAL, eThekwini Municipality, Dube Tradeport and Transnet Pipelines Authority to name a few.

    Environmental Control Officer & Environmental Management Inspector (Grade 2) Reactive Inspections Compliance: Environmental Impact and Pollution at DFFE

    Mr. Scheepers has been working for the South African Government in the Environmental Management Field for the preceding 24 years. He joined DEFF 13 years ago and has been actively involved in inter alia Interpretation Queries Responses, drafting of the EIA Regulations and associated Listing Notices, drafting of the Instrument Regulations, Pro-Bono work, Capacity Building, Training, Stakeholder Engagement Facilitation, Legislative Support (e.g. Bills, Regulations. Litigation and Appeals) and Technical Support (Protocols, Standards, Policies, Environmental Management Instruments, Standards etc.). He has earlier this year been transferred to DFFE’s Directorate Compliance: Environmental Impact and Pollution and is responsible for, amongst other, compliance inspections, joint national compliance interventions and matters pertaining to Section 30 of NEMA.

    Control Environmental Officer at EDTEA

    Mr Nqobile Zungu is currently employed as a Control Environmental Officer at the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA) under compliance and enforcement directorate at head office in Pietermaritzburg. He is designated as a Grade 2 Environmental Management Inspector. He worked for the City of Umhlathuze as a field surveyor, also worked as a junior scientist at the Unizulu science centre. 2013-2017 worked for the KZN provincial department of environmental affairs formally known as the Department of Agriculture and Environmental Affairs. In 2017 he joined the Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Environment within compliance and enforcement and left in 2020 to re-joined the KZN provincial department of environmental affairs, EDTEA.

    He holds a BSc degree in Environmental Management, two BSc (Hons), one is Botany and another in Environmental Modelling and Remote Sensing, MSc in Ecology and Conservation and currently studying his PhD at the University of South Africa.

    Mr. Nazeer Jamal is Managing Director and Lead Environmental Specialist at Khweza Environmental Consulting. He has a B.Sc. (H) in Environmental Science majored in Economics, Geography & Environmental Management and over 10 years’ experience in all 3 spheres of government including the National DWS, the National DEA, the KZN EDTEA and the eThekwini Municipality. He was an active Environmental Management Inspector for the Green Scorpions for 9 years. He has been awarded as One of 200 Top Young South Africans by Mail & Guardian in 2011, as Climate Reality Leader by Climate Reality, and serves as Council Member of the KZN Climate Change and Sustainable Development Council. He is Chairman of Penny Appeal South Africa, an international humanitarian aid organization and is an avid landscape and travel photographer.
